Take Five

The theme this month is folding.

Take Five. A novel polyomino puzzle. I've never seen this idea before. A couple years ago I created a puzzle for Discover that involved finding constellations of the letters of the alphabet in the night sky. The current Discover editor in chief didn't like it, so it ran in Games magazine instead. This puzzle was inspired by wanting to invent a new puzzle based on the idea of finding constellations in the stars.

Crease is the Word. As long as I was doing folding puzzles, I wanted to do a puzzle related to origami. This rather odd puzzle was the result. Originally I asked for the number of regions you can get with three or four folds, but two folds was hard enough.

Hoist the Colors. There are many such folding puzzles. The really hard ones require tucking flaps into each other. This one is comparitively easy; my contribution is mixing four puzzles of varying difficulty into a single piece of paper. It was tricky finding a way
