Japanese puzzle designer Nob Yoshigahara called my attention to Hiroimono several years ago. I enjoy it because it is easy to create interesting puzzles that make recognizable shapes.
The original version of this puzzle I submitted to Discover showed the eight letters of Discover laid out as shown below. In addition to solving each letter as an individual Hiroimono puzzle, your challenge is to find a solution for all eight letters taken as a single puzzle. This puzzle is quite hard. Unfortunately the puzzle was too big to reproduce in the magazine, so they ran only the individual letter puzzles. Answer.
